blessed

I have my job next year!! Yay! I will be teaching 2nd grade again at Lewis Carroll. Thanks to everyone who prayed. God definitely was in control of this situation. Next year is going to be a big challenge, though.  Three of the teachers on the 2nd grade team have been moved to different grades. We will be getting some fresh blood to replace them. Fresh blood meaning they haven't taught 2nd grade. So, I will have more experience in the grade then the others. Which baffles me. I will be going from the one who is always asking questions... to the one who should have the answers.

He never said his blessings would be easy.

wednesdays are my favorite.

Every Wednesday I leave work and head to a local coffee shop and meet two of my favorite people, Deeann and Lauren. While enjoying our coffee/tea and snackie we chat about our weeks and what God has been doing with us.  Each week one of us will bring a few Bible verses to the group and share why it is important to us. We all memorize the verses throughout the week and have to recite it to each other next time. It's been incredible to see how God uses those verses. They are definitely not random! He has a reason for us to be thinking about it all week. They have been challenging and comforting at the same time. We have been used by God to share these verses with other people. It's incredible. To complete our afternoon, we share what is on our hearts and what we need each other to be praying about. And we pray.

How lucky am I!?  I am so blessed and grateful to have these girls in my life. I love Wednesdays.

Plus...they are WAY fun!

Bad Dog Marley!

So... We have this dog Fin. He's a yellow lab with tons of energy. Mom calls him Marley because of the well known book about a terror of a dog who destroys everything in his path. Fin is no Marley -I keep telling Mom. Well, tonight, Fin was Marley.

We've been trying this new thing with him. We've been letting him stay out of his crate while we go out for a short while. We feel bad leaving him in his crate all day and then again at night while we go get some dinner. So, we "Fin-proof" the house and put everything we think he'd be interested in far away behind a locked door. At first he tore up the occasional flip flop or basket of magazines or shoe that we forgot about. But, he's been doing very well lately... not chewing anything at all! Until tonight. Our dear friends Nick and Emily invited us to a yummy dinner at Slo and Low BBQ and THIS is what he came home to...

I guess we should have taken the cushions off the couch. Silly us.
